Paul Gets Back To Shea

As a bit of a big surprise to me- as it hasnt been reported on any websites or anything- Paul McCartney was one of the artists to join Billy Joel in the last concert at Shea Stadium last Friday, before it is to be torn down. The Beatles played the first ever concert there, in 1965, which was to a record-breaking audience for the time, then again in 1966. And now Paul was present for a mostly nostalgic return to the area, playing classics such as Let It Be and I Saw Her Standing There.

They were also joined by The Who's Roger Daltrey, Steven Tyler, Tony Bennett and Garth Brooks. Paul said of the event, "Came here a long time ago, we had a blast that night, and we're having another one tonight."

and I loved this picture!

You've Got a Lucky Face

-
Here are halves of the face of George Harrison, from A Hard Day's Night- which look really really good! (the second one is gorgeous!)

And, finally, here is the full face of The Quiet One...in many different expressions...from that excellent press conference scene in the movie

It's handy to have a Mal Evans!

As can be seen in these pictures, Mal Evans was always one to be on board and willing to please the boys by any means necessary.
I'd like one of those!

Upcoming Macca-Quebec gig

Its just been posted on Paul's official website that he's to play yet ANOTHER free gig- July 20th- this time it'll be in Quebec City, Canada. It'll be his first time in the city and for the occasion of its 400th anniversary. If we fans use the Anfield and Kiev concerts as a frame of reference, we can be sure it'll be excellent.

note: This possibly also helps build up the 'rumor' of an enormous, upcoming McCartney 08 World Tour!
